Information We Collect

SocialCast collects the minimum information necessary to provide our service:

  • Account information: email address and authentication details when you sign up.
  • Usage data: the content you search for, listen to, and interact with in the app.
  • Device information: device type, OS version, and app version for compatibility and support.
  • Subscription information: processed securely through Apple's App Store; we never see your payment details.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Deliver and improve the SocialCast listening experience.
  • Generate AI summaries of public comments using Anthropic's Claude API.
  • Personalize trending and recommended content.
  • Communicate important account or service updates.
  • Diagnose technical issues and prevent abuse.

Third-Party Services

SocialCast relies on a small set of trusted providers:

  • Supabase — authentication and data storage.
  • Anthropic (Claude) — AI-powered summaries of public comments.
  • YouTube, Reddit, and Podcast APIs — to fetch publicly available content.
  • Apple App Store — subscription billing.

We do not sell your personal data to any third party.

Sharing, Transfer, and Disclosure of Google User Data

SocialCast does not sell, share, or transfer Google user data to third parties, except in the following limited circumstances:

  • Anthropic — public comments only, for the purpose of generating AI summaries through our integration with Anthropic's Claude API.
  • Supabase — for secure authentication and data storage infrastructure.
  • Apple — for subscription billing and App Store related services.
  • Legal requirements — when required by law, regulation, legal process, or enforceable governmental request.

We do not use Google user data for any purposes unrelated to SocialCast's core service, and we do not share such data with advertisers or data brokers.

Google API Limited Use Disclosure

SocialCast complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We use data obtained via Google APIs solely to provide or improve user-facing features that are visible and accessible within the SocialCast application. We do not use this data for any other purpose, and we do not transfer it to third parties except as permitted by the Limited Use requirements and as disclosed above.

Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on secure servers with encryption in transit and at rest. Access is restricted to authorized personnel and protected by industry-standard authentication.

Data Retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Request correction or deletion of your data.
  • Export your data in a portable format.
  • Opt out of non-essential communications.

Children's Privacy

SocialCast is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the app or via email. Continued use of SocialCast after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
